Michael brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role. After studying radiation science and working at Westmead Hospital, he lived in the US and the UK before settling in Abu Dhabi. Starting as a teacher training consultant, Michael eventually led a team in curriculum and assessment in mathematics with Abu Dhabi Education Council. He also gained three masters degrees in Teaching, Special Education and Educational Leadership and found time to represent Australia in rowing and boxing!

After returning to Australia with his young family, Michael  started working at Nambour Special School. Recognising the need for better respite options for students and their families, he and his wife launched Lavender House Respite Care in 2019.

Michael utilises his unique experience in his quest to change the face of disability care in Australia.
