What is Behind Lavender Co's Compassionate Care: A Closer Look at Our Carers

Here at Lavender Co, we are dedicated to providing compassionate care to all of our guests through our Sunshine Coast respite services. In our approach, we prioritise not only the physical needs of our guests but also their emotional and social well-being.

In this blog, we will be outlining the importance of compassionate care and highlighting some of the amazing carers we have here at Lavender Co.

What is compassionate care and why is it important?

For those with disabilities, compassionate care can help to enhance their quality of life, improve health outcomes, and build trust and rapport between caregivers. It can also promote dignity and autonomy, leading to higher levels of satisfaction among individuals and their families.

Here at Lavender  Co, compassionate care lies at the heart of all our services, embodying empathy, support, and individualised attention. It's about recognising the unique needs and preferences of each guest and providing care that goes beyond just physical assistance. We aim to build meaningful connections with our guests and always try to understand their backgrounds, interests, and personalities.

Carer spotlight

Building a dedicated team of carers is essential for providing exceptional care at our Lavender Houses. At Lavender Co, we prioritise not only finding the right match between our carers and guests but also building relationships and ensuring consistency in care.

Once we determine a good match, we work diligently to assemble a team of carers who are committed to delivering compassionate and personalised support to each individual guest.

Our team members undergo comprehensive training, including CPR, First Aid, medication administration, and NDIS education, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills to handle any situation. Additionally, many of our team members have pursued further education and training, obtaining certifications, diplomas, and specialised training in areas such as MAYBO, PEG, and manual handling.

As we celebrate the five-year anniversary of many of our team members, we take pride in their dedication and experience, which contribute to the high-quality care we provide to our guests.
